Servicing your clock

A clock is built out of moving parts that can wear out. Especially when your clock is older it will need to be serviced. Oil, with time, thickens and hardens, dust collects inside the mechanism and one day your clock will stop running.

Whether you have a mantle clock, a wall clock, an alarm clock, a long case clock or even a tower clock, it is always important to have it checked every 5 years for wear of the pivots and/or pivot holes and to check their greasing.

Working procedure:

  • You bring your clock to me or I will come and get it.
  • I will check for what is important to do, and will give you a quotation of the cost.
  • After our agreement, I will start work on your clock.
  • Servicing a clock usually takes several weeks.
  • If any unexpected problem with your clock arises, I will always first get in touch with you before I continue working on your clock.
  • If the work on your clock is finished, I will deliver it at your home to regulate it.
  • On delivery of your clock you will receive a servicing report containing some information on the history of your clock and advice on how to operate it.
  • The service on your clock is guaranteed by De Vrolijke Wijzer.
